Puff Pastry Desserts Recipe

If you’ve read Today’s Creative Life then you’ll know that I love to work with Puratos. It’s easy and always looks great. I feel like a pastry cook with little effort.

This little sandwich made of puff pastry is another example. As Valentine’s Day was approaching, I thought that heart-shaped Nutella & raspberry jam treats were perfect. You can make these in any shape you like, and cutting them into squares is much more waste-free. You can add sweet or savory fillings.

Dessert Recipes with Puff Pastry

You’ll need these ingredients to make this recipe.

  • You will need two sheets of puff pastry. I bought mine. It’s usually in the freezer, but I found it by the refrigerated cookies dough. This brand was rolled up in parchment paper, which made it really convenient.
  • Nutella is a chocolate hazelnut spread that can be used to enhance any dish.
  • Raspberry Jam – I mixed this jam with chocolate to make a Valentine’s Day treat.
  • Powdered sugar – Sprinkle a small amount of confectioner’s sugar on baked goods to make them look more appealing. I use a fine sieve.
  • Cookie cutter with a heart-shaped shape – the size of your cookie cutter will determine how many different hearts you can make.
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Parchment Paper is available in sheets. I find it easier for me to work with.
  • Spread the frosting with this tool.
  • Spatulas and Cooling Rack
  1. Roll out the dough. Thaw your frozen dough before rolling it out. I put the dough on parchment paper to make it easier to transfer onto my baking sheet.
  2. Spread Nutella on the entire sheet of puff pastry. I microwaved the Nutella for a few seconds to make it easier to spread.
  3. Spread the jam over the chocolate.
  4. Roll out the second puff pastry sheet on a sheet of parchment.
  5. Place it on top of chocolate and jam. I took the entire piece of paper, flipped it over and placed it atop the chocolate and jam.
  6. Cut the hearts using your cookie cutter. Cut into any shape. You can even roll it up and cut like cinnamon rolls.
